The outer face of the Sunderland is a durable, tightly woven fabric with an elastane content and a water repellent treament; the inner is a soft brushed microfleece. All this means you get a jacket which allows you to move, which guards agains cold, wind and a good deal of the rain, but which doesn't rustle like more traditional hard shell garments. The protection continues into the hood, which is peaked and fully adjustable to ensure that whatever the weather may be doing, it's not getting into your jacket. Articulated elbows further enhance the your ability to move without restriction, and the positioning of the pockets allows you to access them when wearing a harness or rucksack. A brilliant, well thought out, jack-of-all-trades jacket.
